Aside from a fire, water damage is possibly the fastest acting damage to your  home. Flooding, rain, leaking (busted) pipes, or broken appliances are all possible sources. A whole in your home's foundation that allows humid, moisture-filled air can also cause water damage. Moisture in large amounts leads to condensation, causing water pooling and damage.

 Once water is present it is likely to quickly take action against any porous materials, depending on the kind of water and length it is sitting. Even material that are not quite as porous but still allow for sitting water, will feel the affects. Mold, rotting, or destroyed material are all potential consequences of water intruding into your home if you don’t take action.
